Curriculum for a Graduate Certificate in Conservation
Biology
Internship
Students are required to complete a 160 hour internship that provides
them with practical experience in the field of conservation biology. Students
are required to produce a tangible final product.
Example products include, but are not limited to, a publication, a management plan, an
economic or policy statement, or an educational presentation. Internships
can be local, state, national, or international in nature. Thus, internships
can be completed in one continuous month of work or by working a few hours
per week for several weeks, and internships can be completed in any geographical
location. The logistics of completing the internship will be coordinated
by the student, with the assistance of their major advisor and the Conservation
Biology Curriculum Committee. An internship can only be started after
acceptance into a graduate degree program and must be approved by the
Conservation Biology Program Curriculum Committee.
